Section for Talents: Portraits of Chiara Masaro and Tamilla Sahin

Chiara Masaro is a Ph.D. student in Social Sciences at the Department of Philosophy, Sociology, Pedagogy, and Applied Psychology (FISPPA) of the University of Padova (Italy). Chiara completed her higher education in psychology at the University of Padova, obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in Psychological Sciences of Personality and Interpersonal Relationships in 2017 and her Master’s degree in Clinical-Dynamic Psychology in 2020.

Chiara’s psychological background drove her interest in family studies, specifically in the literature on transnational families. Chiara began her Ph.D. in October 2021, developing a research project that explores the meanings through which motherhood is constructed by women who experienced transnational childhood or adolescence and became mothers in a country different than the one of origin, specifically focusing on the Moldovan migratory pathway to Italy.

Chiara collaborated on research projects in the field of psychology and co-authored scientific articles on emotion regulation, psychological well-being during the COVID-19 pandemic, and psychological-related issues in the context of medicalized infertility. In 2023, she obtained the license to join the national register of Italian Psychologists.
