Burial of Vera Pagava (Leuville-sur-Orge, France)

    Vera Pagava (b. Tbilisi, Georgia, 1907 – d. 1988, Paris, France) was a Georgian artist based in Paris. Right before Georgia became part of the Soviet Union, she moved with her family to Berlin and then to France. Her artwork has appeared in galleries around the world. For the Brussels World Fair in 1958, she created a monumental mural work for the Vatican City pavilion. The « Association culturelle Vera Pagava » was founded in Paris in 1991 to promote and preserve Vera Pagava’s work and archives.
