Lydia Koidula Street (Kohtla-Järve, Estonia)

    Lydia Emilie Florence Jannsen (b. Vändra, Estonia, 1843 – d. 1886, Kronstadt, Russian Empire) was known by her pen name, Lydia Koidula. She was an Estonian poet who married Eduard Michelson, a Livonian army physician. She moved with him to Kronstadt, the headquarters of the Russian navy, but continued to spend her summers in Estonia. She anonymously published her poetry and newspaper work, and she founded the Estonian theater. She is also a national poet of Estonia.
