School named after Eva Kotchever (Paris, France)

    Eva Kotchever (b. Mława, Poland, 1891 – d. 1943, Auschwitz, Poland) was a bookseller in Paris who was deported in 1943 to Auschwitz. Also known as Eve Addams, she is known for having run an openly lesbian establishment, Eve’s Hangout, in New York from 1925 to 1926. Eva Kotchever’s life and legacy are associated with the challenging and tumultuous events of the 20th century, particularly the impact of war and persecution on individuals, especially those who advocated for political and social causes.
