Anna Pavlovna Pavlova (b. St. Petersburg, Russian Empire, 1881 – d. 1931, Hague, Netherlands ) was a Russian ballerina, who became the first ballerina to tour around the world, including performances in South America, India and Australia. She performed in Paris with the Ballets Russes. After leaving Russia, she settled in England in 1912 and became influential in the development of British ballet. She made many charity dance performances to support Russian orphans in post-World War I Paris. This is a statuette sitting with the urn that holds Anna Pavlova’s ashes.
