Street dedicated to Pauline Chapponière-Chaix (Bern, Switzerland)

    Pauline Chapponière-Chaix (b. Geneva, Switzerland, 1850 – d. 1934, Geneva, Switzerland) was for more than a decade active as a deaconess in France. During that time, she cared for children in an asylum, she worked in a women’s prison and ran a Protestant girls’ home. Back in Switzerland she was actively involved in the Geneva  women’s union, Union des femmes, and was active in Swiss and international women’s movement.
