Elena Caragiani-Stoenescu (b. Tecuci, Romania, 1887 – d. 1929, Bucharest, Romania) was the first woman aviator in Romania, she lived in France where she married a French man and obtained a flying diploma from the Aeroclub de France. In France she became a reporter for a major French daily newspaper and traveled to the Caribbean, Mexico and South America, before becoming a war correspondent for the Press Trust of Mexico. After the war she settled in Paris with her husband.
