Eliza Leonida Zamfirescu (b. Galati, Romania, 1887 – d. 1973, Bucharest, Romania) was the first woman engineer in Romania and one of the first three in the world. She studied in Berlin, Germany because she was not allowed to in Romania. When she returned to Romania she became a prominent geologist. An award for women working in science and technology was established in her name, the Premiul Elisa Leonida-Zamfirescu.
