Maria Cebotari (b. Chișinău, Russian Empire, 1910 – d. 1949, Vienna, Austria) was a Bessarabian-Romanian soprano and actress. She performed with the Moscow Art Theatre Company as an actress and moved to Berlin with the company. In 1946, she left Berlin and joined the Vienna State Opera House. She has been ‘reclaimed’ by both Romania and the Republic of Moldova, while she herself identified as Romanian.
