Melita Lorković (b. Županja, Croatia, 1907 – d.1987, Zagreb, Croatia) was Croatian pianist and piano teacher. She graduated from the Academy of Music in Zagreb and trained abroad. She was soon included among the greatest pianists of her time. With concerts worldwide, she gained a great reputation for her repertoire’s scope and rich stylistic characterization. She also intensively engaged in teaching work in Zagreb, Belgrade, and from 1960 until her retirement in 1972, at the National Conservatory in Cairo. Then she returned to Zagreb, where she was a professor at the Academy of Music until 1987.
