The Tomb of Josephine Baker (Paris, France)

    Josephine Baker (b. Missouri, USA, 1906 – d.1975, Paris, France) was an American entertainer and civil rights activist. She was an American-born French dancer, singer and actress. Her career was centered primarily in Europe, mostly in her adopted France. She was the first black woman to star in a major motion picture. She has been inducted into the French Pantheon, the nation’s mausoleum of heroes.
