Pauline Schmidt (b. (unknown city), Denmark, 1865- d. 1944, Tampere, Finland), also known as Pauline Rasmussen, was a female magician born in Denmark. She toured with her magic show « Grand Soiree Mysterieuse » across the Scandinavian countries of Finland, Sweden and Norway, receiving great reviews and experiencing a lot of success. During the 19th-century, female magicians were extremely rare and she was somewhat of an exception in her profession. Pauline Schmidt lived in Norway and Sweden before settling permanently in Tampere, Finland. Pauline Schmidt married a Danish photographer Niels Rasmussen, with whom they established together a photographic studio in Tampere.
